August is here and the Summer Reading Program is officially over. From pirates and mermaids to live parrots and Curious George, we had a wonderful time sharing a summer chock-full of fantastic books and programs. Whether you were exploring Timeless Tales of Thor, Little House on the Prairie or Finding Winnie the Pooh, the library has been the place to jump into the life-long adventure of reading. Participants in the reading program moved their nametags through five famous storybook places on their journey to 50 books or 25 hours. We even had 54 children become Super Summer Readers by reading 100 books or 50 hours! If you haven’t brought in your reading log yet, the final day to get your prizes is August 12th. For those of you heading into Pre-K or Kindergarten, be sure to check out our display of “Back to School” books! Please note that Storytime is on vacation and will be back in September with lots of great surprises for the fall.
