Dinosaur vs. The Library

Dinosaur faces his biggest challenge yet in Bob Shea's newest picture book. Will his mighty roar defeat the library, or will Dinosaur have to use his "inside roar?" Bob Shea's humor and bright, colorful illustrations make Dinosaur vs. the Library a great read-aloud for dino-nuts.

How the Cat Swallowed Thunder

Old Mother Holly had some errands to run. She left some chores for her weary cat and then went on her way, leaving a warning to the cat not to get in any trouble or "the worse for you," she said. The cat started to sweep the floor like old mother Holly had told him, but he just couldn’t resist the soft, warm eiderdown quilt on the bed. Just as he was about to rest, he remembered the soup he was supposed to stir. He went to stir the soup, but since he was hungry he had to have a little bite. When he took a bite, some soup spilled on the floor. When the cat tried to clean the spill with a little water, he spilled the whole pitcher on the floor, which got the corn wet. When the corn got wet, the cat pulled the sack to the fire to dry, and oh no! The corn began to pop and soon filled the house with its exploding thunder. Things just go from bad to worse for the poor weary cat. What will Old Mother Holly do to him when she gets home? What will he do with all the mess he has made in the house? Find out when you read How the Cat Swallowed Thunder.

The Son of Neptune (The Heroes of Olympus Book 2)

The second novel in Rick Riordan's new series hits the ground running. Literally. We get a crash course in Percy's adventures since waking up at Wolf House as he's crashing through the woods of Northern California running from the gorgons. Like Jason in The Lost Hero, Percy has lost his memory. At Camp Jupiter, he befriends Hazel and Frank, two demigods with secret pasts, and goes with them on a quest to Alaska to defeat another of the earth goddess Gaea's evil giant sons. Rick Riordan's books keep getting better. Each is more clever and well-written than the one before. I'm eagerly awaiting the next book in the fall!
