Mr. Popper's Penguins

Mr. Popper's Penguins is a delightful story. It is about an odd little man and his odd little family. Mr. Popper loves anything to do with Antarctica, so he writes a letter to a famous Antarctic explorer. The explorer sends Mr. Popper a penguin. Mr. Popper and his family simply love the penguin and make it a cool place in their icebox and feed it canned shrimp. When the penguin becomes lonely they acquire another penguin, and before you know it, they have twelve penguins! Twelve Penguins can be very expensive, so the Poppers set out to train their penguins and take them on tour as a show. The show is a great success, although the mischievous penguins often get everybody in trouble. Mr. Popper's Penguins is a witty little book that was written a long time ago but is still funny and endearing today.
