Duck, Death, and the Tulip

This unusual picture book tells the story of a little white Duck who strikes up a unique friendship with Death. Duck has a strange feeling, and sure enough, as she turns around, she sees Death right behind her. At first she is afraid. Death, however, isn't "out to get her," he is just a part of life. Death is depicted as a both cute and strange skull-headed character wearing a plaid coat. This book may not be for all familes, but it shows that death does not have to be a scary thing with beauty and sincerety; death is a normal thing that happens to everyone, and is a part of everyone's life.
