CLASS 3: What is the Architectural History of My House? Using Archival Records
Tuesday, October 18, 2016, 7:00 p.m.

Unless you live in the Taylor-Grady house or another major historic property, researching the architectural history of your home may be an elusive and frustrating process. We will be looking at a variety of resources, primarily in the Hargrett Rare Book and Manuscript Library - maps, plats, photographs, city engineering records, books, aerial surveys, etc. - that may provide clues to the appearance of your home over the years. Presented by Steven Brown of the Hargrett Rare Book & Manuscript Library.

Night Owl Prowl

Friday, October 28, 6:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

The Clarke-Oconee Genealogical Society and the Athens-Clarke County Library Heritage Room invite you to our annual Night Owl Prowl.

Remember all those times you found something just as the repository was about to close? Ever dream of spending the night in a genealogical collection? Now's your chance!

When the Library closes at 6:00pm on Friday, October 28, you and your fellow genealogy researchers will have the Heritage Room all to yourselves. There will be food and beverages and a security guard to walk you to your car if you leave before 11:00 p.m. The charge is $10 for COGS members and $15 for nonmembers to cover the cost of security and food. The number of participants is limited, so payment and registration form must be received by Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at 8:00pm.
