Converting Your Media to Digital at the Library

The Athens-Clarke County Library provides equipment and training for converting analog formats (VHS tapes, slides, negatives, LPs, audio cassette, and print documents) to digital formats.

  • Please remember that copyright laws apply to many commercial products.
  • Library staff will train you in using the equipment and assist you in the process; however, you are responsible for doing the work.
  • You must have a place to store your digitized content, e.g., a flash drive, DVD, cloud space such as Flickr or Youtube, etc.
  • There is no charge to convert your content.
  • If you have a digitization need not listed here, please let us know.
  • The Heritage Room and DMC both offer training by appointment. While the DMC provides creative technology support, the Heritage Room serves as a resource for guidance on archiving family histories, genealogy, and local history.
