"Promises to Keep: How Jackie Robinson changed America" by Sharon Robinson

Mr. Robinson, a famous baseball player, helped pioneer the way for advancement in the Black community. The "content of his character" was severely tested at times but the test only served to sharpen his athletic skills and strengthen his resolve. He was an inspiring example of determination, commitment, loyalty, and patriotism. Like Dr. Martin Luther King, he sought justice for the black community in a none violent way.

The Center is located on the 3rd floor of the Lay Park Community Center. This Resource Center was established with SPLOST 2000 funds and is staffed by the Athens-Clarke County Library.
