The Friends of the Madison County Library General Meeting will be Sunday, April 27th at 3:00, and will feature guest speaker Linda Chafin. Ms. Chafin, conservation botanist at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens, wrote “Field Guide to the Rare Plants of Georgia” and will soon publish “Wildflowers of Georgia.”
The Spring Book Sale raised $4400.00! Thanks to community support, devoted volunteers, and thousands of great books donated by Baker and Taylor, American Book Company, and YOU! The Book Sale could not happen without our wonderful friends -thank you.
April is National Volunteer month: the Friends will be recognizing special volunteers with 50 hours or more at the General meeting.
The semi-annual Friends of the Library Book Sale is upon us! Come on over from March 7th through March 15th and re-stock your private collection of books at the best Friends Sale yet. Support your library while securing hours and hours of reading pleasure at a fraction of the cost of buying new books from the store. The Friends of the Library also offers a special FRIENDS MEMBERS ONLY PREVIEW SALE the night of March 6th from 5 pm to 8 pm so that Friends Members can get first pick of the best books. Not a member yet? It’s time to join. Becoming a Friend of the Library is easy, and it is the best way for you to ensure that your library can continue to build a great collection of materials for you to use and enjoy. Membership forms are available at the Front Desk.
Our annual membership drive continues through March. Renew your membership or join for the first time. Do you need a reason to join the Friends? The Spring Book Sale will be open to the general public from Friday, March 7th through Saturday, March 15th. Friends of the Library are invited to an exclusive preview sale the night before, on Thursday, March 6th from 5 to 8 PM. Members of the Friends also receive this calendar of events in their mailbox or inbox, and a warm feeling for supporting a community resource!
