Friends of the Library News
Thanks to the hard work of the Friends and the support of the community, we have had a summer jam-packed with exciting events and fun prizes for ALL ages.
The fall book sale will start September 12 and run through the 20th. The preview sale for Friends members will be from 5 to 8 PM on Thursday, September 11th.
Red Cross Blood Drive: Monday May 12, 2 to 7 PM. The Friends of the Madison County Library will provide homemade refreshments as an added incentive to give the gift of life! There will be a reservation sheet in the library.
The Friends of the Madison County Library General Meeting will be Sunday, April 27th at 3:00, and will feature guest speaker Linda Chafin. Ms. Chafin, conservation botanist at the State Botanical Garden of Georgia in Athens, wrote “Field Guide to the Rare Plants of Georgia” and will soon publish “Wildflowers of Georgia.”
The Spring Book Sale raised $4400.00! Thanks to community support, devoted volunteers, and thousands of great books donated by Baker and Taylor, American Book Company, and YOU! The Book Sale could not happen without our wonderful friends -thank you.
April is National Volunteer month: the Friends will be recognizing special volunteers with 50 hours or more at the General meeting.
