Jennif Chandler of Shady Brook Farm will lead participants ages 7 and up in a fun, hands on event. Felted soaps make great gifts and can be simple or fancy in design. For a $4 supply fee, participants can bring their own bar soap, use our plain soap, and/or Jennif will supply her hand made goat milk soap for an additional $5. Felting needles can be used to apply surface design in contrasting colors for those that want to get a little fancy. Wool is wrapped around the soap, placed inside a nylon stocking toe, wetted and rubbed on the textured surface of a paint tray liner (supplied). It quickly becomes a felted fabric encasing the soap which makes it attractive, easy to hold onto in shower or tub and delightfully exfoliating (much better than oatmeal). Felted soap usually lasts longer and when the soap is gone, you have a handy little scrubbie that is mildew resistant.
Tuesday, November 5, 2:30 - 3:30 p.m. or 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.
These days almost everything is done online. What about those of us who aren’t really great with a computer to begin with? The Madison County Library offers a free, 4-part introduction to computers series that will familiarize you with the keyboard, mouse, and how to "make it work!" Please call to pre-register; each session can only hold 6 attendees! Sessions are Tuesdays from 2:30 to 3:30 PM and 6:30-7:30 PM, and Wednesdays from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
