Teen Anime Club
Thursday, October 17, 7:00 - 8:00 p.m.
Oglethorpe County Library is showing Miyazaki’s Kiki’s Delivery Service for its anime club. On Thursday, October 17, 2013, all teens ages 13 to 18 are invited to attend this free showing of the Disney version of this movie. Kiki is a young witch-in-training, and has reached the age of 13. According to tradition, all witches of that age must leave home for one year, so that they can learn how to live on their own. Along with her talking cat, Gigi, Kiki flies away to live in a seaside town. After starting her own delivery service (using her broom as the delivery vehicle), Kiki must learn how to deal with her new life, especially after she loses the power to fly. The film is based on the Japanese children’s novel by the same name, and rated G. Free popcorn will be served!
