Tuesday, January 28, 11:30 a.m.
Oglethorpe County Library’s Adult Book Discussion Group, Open Book, will be meeting to discuss the 2008 New York Times Best Seller, The Art of Racing in the Rain, by American author and filmmaker, Garth Stein. This extremely popular book club selection is told from the viewpoint of man’s best friend, Enzo, the family dog. While Enzo has some pretty unusual beliefs about the humans, their world and their interactions, he aptly delivers a heart wrenching story of family, loyalty, love, and hope. With the novel remaining on the best sellers’ list for 156 weeks, it is sure to be an enjoyment for all genre readers so pick up a copy at the circulation desk and join us on January 28 for the discussion.
Wednesdays at 10:30 a.m.
The Oglethorpe County Library welcomes all toddlers and preschool aged children to attend our weekly storytime. During this hour, we enjoy reading books, singing silly songs, stretching and dancing to fun rhymes and music, playing exciting learning games, and making simple crafts. It is a wonderful time to meet new friends and learn about all of the great books that the library has to offer.

On January 29th, we welcome all who attend to bring their favorite stuffed animal friend to storytime with them to listen to stories and be part of the pet show. If you don't have a favorite stuffed friend, that is okay, the library will have plenty for you to choose from that would love to be your partner for the pet show.
