Beneath the Surface: Summer Reading Program for Teens at the Athens-Clarke County Library

Who Can Participate?

Teens ages 11-18. Tweens leaving the 5th grade may choose to participate in either the Teen or Children's Summer Reading Program.

How Do I Sign up?

Come to the Summer Reading Kickoff Party at the Athens-Clarke County Library on May 17th. There teens can craft their own personalized book logs and enjoy a variety of snacks and activities. Can't make it to the party on the 17th? No worries; just stop by the Teen Services Department to sign up for the program and pick up a book log.

And Then What?

Use your book log to keep track of what you read -- novels, graphic novels, comics, audiobooks, magazines, whatever! It ALL counts. Write down the title & author, what you thought about it, or just give it an underground rating from 1-5 of how much you dug it. Read 5 books or 10 hours worth of reading to be eligible for prizes. Turn in your logs before or on Friday, August 9th in time for the End of the Summer Reading Party to claim your prizes!
